About Dodrio's Nest
Dodrio's Nest. What is it? It's Dodrio Girl's super awesome Pokemon site. Originally, Dodrio's Nest was a website called Wings and Claws, a fan site for Pokemon. And since my favorite type is Flying, why not make it a Flying Type site? Before that though, when I first started getting the idea of building a site (3rd grade,) I planned to name it Dodrio Trio. I have no clue why; other than the fact that it rhymed and it had Dodrio in the title. But that's all done with, so lets skip forward a little bit now, eh? Dodrio's Nest (that was Wings and Claws at the time) started being put together May 31, 2006. Since it was the end of the school year, everything was wrapping up and it was the last we were going to see of our teachers for 3 months, I started hastily pulling the site together. I wanted to prove to my computer teacher that I was smart enough to build my own site. Yet my computer teacher was moving to Ohio during the summer, so I had to show it to her June 6th, the last day of school before she left.
On June 5th, 2006, I created a Freewebs account and put up version 1.0 of WaC. It contained an obnoxious feather background, broken links, misspelled words, and inconsistent banners. But it was up and going. Every thing's gotta start somewhere, right? So yup, that's all how DN started.
But skipping to the future, DN slowly started getting popular. It was first a site that only my friend and cousin visited. But later that year, I met some online friends on the "Mew's Hangout Refugee Forum". The forum that was built by the fans when the original site and forum were torn down. One of those friends... was Chiaman. Being the annoying little friend he was, he went around and posted on the forums, started giving me feedback, and other website-y stuff. Thanks to him, I got members to join my forums, made more online friends, and found a motivation to keep building my site. (Thanks, Chia!) On February 4th, 2007, I purchased the domain name Dodrio's Nest, changing WaC to DN.
Where I want to go with DN is onto the online world where you can say, "Oh, have you been to that Pokemon site? The Dodrio one?" and people can say "Oh yeah! I've been there!" But that's still a long time from now. So lets just stick to trying to get all the basic Pokemon information down for now, mmkay?
