Pokedex Entry: This majestic Pokemon is found only in the northern Jetta. It is a rare Pokemon that is usually mistaken as a discolored Milotic.
Extra Info: Samakoln is a very rare Pokemon that is supposedly evolved from and undiscovered Pokemon. It was gifted with psychic energy that emits from the pink spots on its side. This energy enables it to fly by warping the air around it to create thermal updrafts that are strong enough to hold Samakoln up in the air. This Pokemon species may have come to be after Milotic had adapted to living in deep, cold water of northern Jetta. Scientists believe that the Milotics were not accustomed to the cool temperatures in the water, and somehow, to change their body temperature, the pigment of their scales changed to a wide variety of colors. Their bodies then slowly adapted to their environment. This included growing more fins, so if the temperature dropped, they would be able to move fast enough to keep from freezing and growing fin/hairs above their eyes to keep ice from frosting on their eyes. In the summer, these Pokemon migrate even further north to keep cool; they have thick blubber, so if they were to stay in northern Jetta in the summer, they would surely die from heat stroke. Samakoln is able to stay under water for up to one hour, allowing it enough time to hunt for food like Magicarp or Spheal. It can also stay up in the air for up to 3 hours; even though it is a water Pokemon with gills, the pink spots on its side also serve as a sponge as well as the "Psychic spots" mentioned before. The spots take in water from the air to keep it hydrated. Even though it is able to survive above water, it's spots need water to function fully; that is why it can only stay above water for 3 hours, after that, it's spots stop working and need water. Even though many things have been discovered about this Pokemon, there are other things that need more researching: Is it legendary? Does it really evolve from something? Does it evolve into anything? Are they breed able? Ect. ect...
Evolution: It is supposed to evolve from an undiscovered Pokemon when it has reached full happiness during a rainstorm.

History: I made Samakoln for a Fakemon contest back in March, 2006. The maker of the contest had made up a new Region based of Alaska, but then putting it up here I changed the Region to Jetta; the Region my fanfiction takes place. The orignal contest was never judged. I came up with the name Smakoln by mixing the words snake and salmon. I got the Japanese name by combining the Japanese words of snake and salmon.
